\n\nJob Description\n

The Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Care unit will provide specialized nursing care for patients recovering from cardiac and vascular surgeries and interventions. The nurse will work in a mixed acuity unit, focusing on cardiac medical patients and ensuring the delivery of high-quality care while monitoring and interpreting patients' data.

\n\nResponsibilities\n \n

  • Provide nursing care and monitor patients in a step-down cardiac unit.

    • \n

  • Administer medications and manage IV therapy and blood product administration.

    • \n

  • Perform assessments and interpret readings from telemetry monitors.

    • \n

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.

    • \n

  • Educate patients and their families on post-operative care and health management.

    • \n

  • Respond to patient emergencies and implement appropriate interventions.

    • \n \n\nRequired Experience / Certifications / Licensure\n \n

  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with a preference for cardiac experience.

    • \n

  • Current ACLS and BLS certifications required.

    • \n

  • Experience with Epic charting system preferred.

    • \n

  • Ability to perform various nursing skills including central line care, arterial blood gas interpretation, and management of cardiac drips.
