Job Summary

This is a full-time, mobile role based in Southern Connecticut (New Haven County and Fairfield County) , where you’ll travel to appointments, perform professional grooming services—including bathing, brushing, haircuts, nail trimming, and styling—and provide exceptional care and customer service. You’ll work independently on the road while being supported by a strong operational team and a loyal client base, giving you both stability and the freedom to focus on your work.

Responsibilities

  • Drive a company-provided mobile grooming van to client appointments across Southern Connecticut (New Haven County and Fairfield County)
  • Deliver professional grooming services (bathing, brushing, cutting, nail trimming, styling, etc.) for dogs of all sizes and breeds
  • Ensure each pet’s grooming experience is calm, safe, and comfortable within a well-equipped mobile environment
  • Build trusted relationships with clients by understanding their preferences, addressing questions, and maintaining a professional, friendly presence
  • Observe pets’ coats and skin during grooming, flagging any health concerns and communicating them clearly to owners
  • Keep the grooming van clean and organized throughout the day, sanitizing tools and equipment between appointments to maintain high hygiene standards
  • Keep accurate grooming records and follow all safety, hygiene, and animal welfare protocols.
  • Manage time effectively to ensure timely and productive appointment schedules
  • Compensation and Benefits

  • 40–50% commission, depending on experience
  • Daily pay range of $250–$500+, based on appointments and schedule
  • 100% of tips go directly to you

  • Qualifications and Requirements

  • At least 1 year of professional dog grooming experience (mobile experience preferred, but not required)
  • Strong skills in breed-specific and general grooming techniques
  • Must be able to lift at least 70 pounds; more is a plus
  • Experience with cats is a plus
  • Portfolio required — please provide grooming photos with your application
  • A genuine love for dogs and a commitment to providing excellent care
  • Excellent time management and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining high professional standards
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
  • Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays is preferred.
