Medical Assistant II, III
UTHealth Houston Department of Surgery is hiring a Medical Assistant II, III to join their team of professionals at their Urology clinic in the Texas Medical Center. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a Urology Clinic assisting physicians with various Urology procedures such as vasectomies, prostate biopsies, cystoscopies, ultrasounds, penile dopplers, Botox injections, Interstem as well as pelvic / prostate exams. Bilingual is a plus.

Certification / Skills
Basic Life Support (BLS) by American Heart Association (AHA) required
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) required or
Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) by American Medical Technologist (AMT) required or
Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) by National Healthcareer Association (NHA) required or
National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) by National Center for Competency Testing required
Minimum Education : High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of an approved Medical Assistant training program OR one (1) year of experience (in addition to the one year of experience required to meet the experience requirement) AND certification may be substituted for Medical Assistant training program.
Minimum Experience : One year of related experience
Physical Requirements : Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and / or up to 20 pounds frequently and / or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
Security Sensitive : This position is a security-sensitive position pursuant to Texas Education Code 51.215 and Texas Government Code 411.094. To the extent that a position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Texas Business and Commerce Code 117.001(2), the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired for and to continue to be employed in that position.
