This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.

As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will facilitate configuration development and integration of New Glenn Stage 1. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of the design throughout the product lifecycle. Your passion for space means you're committed to the necessary quality and attention to detail required to support human space flight. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

In this role you will integrate between sub-systems and modules to define the best design solutions for New Glenn Stage 1. You will manage the coordinated design solution across the vehicle structural, mechanical, fluids and electrical subsystems. You will also support development of system requirements, requirement flow down, and verification planning. You will lead multi-functional trades and impact studies. You will be responsible for coordinating and communicating designs changes between affected sub-systems. You will assist in configuration management and in Engineering Change Requests (ECR's). You will build and manage interface definitions between subsystems with appropriate model interface definition and interface control documents (ICDs).

In this role you will lead the configuration baseline of the first stage mid module in Windchill, including EBOM / MBOM alignment, part numbering, effectivity, serialization, and release workflows.

To be successful, you will need to facilitate and resolve integration and development issues between engineering teams. You must be able to ensure that the configuration supports major design reviews and integration achievements.

Responsibilities :

Own the configuration baseline of the first stage mid module in Windchill, including EBOM / MBOM alignment, part numbering, effectivity, serialization, and release workflows.

Drive crossmodule interface integrity with forward / aft modules, structures, fluids, avionics, TVC, harnessing, ordnance / separation, and GSE; author and maintain ICDs and configuration indexes.

Lead change control : prepare CN / ECR / ECO packages, run impact analyses, present at various change boards, and handle deviations / waivers and nonconformances through closure.

Establish datum strategies and apply GD&T per ASME Y14.5; perform tolerance stacks across mechanical and system interfaces; validate manufacturability with ME / Quality.

Execute topdown design in CREO (skeletons, merge / inheritance, family tables, simplified reps) and maintain modelbased definition (MBD) fidelity and drawing quality.

Integrate mechanical and system requirements; link requirements to configuration and verification plans; support PDR / CDR and flight readiness reviews.

Coordinate with Stress / Loads, Fluids, Thermal, and Vibe / Acoustics to meet budgets (mass, CG, stiffness, clearance, pressure, temperature, shock).

Ensure digital thread continuity : trace design artifacts to requirements, test, and asbuilt records; reconcile asdesigned vs. asbuilt for flight configuration.

Partner with Manufacturing and Supply Chain on build plans, tooling, inspection, and acceptance test; resolve build issues and drive corrective actions.

Mentor designers, enforce design standards, conduct model / drawing checks, and improve PLM / CAD standards.

Minimum Qualifications :

B.S. degree in engineering

and at least 7 years

of experience in the development and packaging of large structural support equipment used in oil / gas, aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicle structures

Demonstrated configuration control experience on recently developed large support equipment used in oil / gas, aircraft, or launch vehicles from early trade studies through final design, and into manufacturing and test

Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills and experience working in a highly integrated multi-functional team environment

Good judgment and flexibility, and oriented on achieving results

Strong design and integration skills using 3-D CAD software and visualization tools

Demonstrated knowledge of scheduling and planning principles and tools

Preferred Qualifications :

B.S. degree in engineering

and at least 10 years

of experience or M.S. degree in engineering and at least 8 years of experience

Strong GD&T skills and experience with large tolerance stack-up analysis

Experience using PTC Creo and Windchill

Participated in a recognized configuration management training (CMII)

Knowledge of aerospace vehicle fabrication and assembly techniques and related quality control concepts

Ability to interpret and apply high-level system requirements to practical design solutions

Compensation Range for :

WA applicants is $140,959.00-$197,342.25
