Program Director (LMFT, LCSW, LPCC or Licensed Psychologist)

Our brand new, 15-bed, mental health facility is located in Orangevale, Ca. Our inpatient facility serves voluntary clients who receive specialized and personal care from our staff.

Essential Functions :
Ensure facility and program operations comply with company policy / standards, DHCS Title 9, DSS licensing requirements, Joint Commission standards, HIPAA, ADA / FEHA, and federal / state labor laws.
Maintain risk management systems, safety drills, emergency preparedness, and infection-control procedures.
Direct and oversee all program operations, clinical services, and administrative functions at multiple facilities. Establish measurable program goals, quality improvement initiatives, and performance outcomes.
Ensure delivery of evidence-based, client-centered care in accordance with treatment plans and state / federal requirements.
Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate program staff in compliance with California wage-hour laws, labor codes, and mandated training requirements.
Provide support to staff and clients during crisis situations and ensure all incidents are managed according to established protocols, with timely reporting.
Ensure all staff maintain current certifications (First Aid / CPR, Mandated Reporter, etc.) and meet required continuing education or licensing standards.
Provide ongoing coaching, professional development, and performance evaluations.
Ensure all services uphold client rights, dignity, and safety as defined by DHCS, DSS, and Joint Commission standards.
Oversee grievance procedures, incident reporting, and corrective action plans. Review, investigate, and resolve client, staff, or community complaints in accordance with due process and legal requirements.
Monitor compliance with clinical documentation standards and treatment planning timelines. Ensure accurate billing practices, proper coding, and compliance in the Electronic Health Records system.
Lead program quality improvement efforts and ensure compliance with Joint Commission performance improvement requirements.
Serve as the point of contact for site audits, licensing visits, and accreditation surveys.
Develop and manage program budgets.
Build and maintain collaborative relationships with referral sources, community partners, and oversight agencies as needed.
Represent the organization in regulatory, community, and professional settings.
Education and minimum qualifications :
Master’s degree in a Behavioral or Social Science field (e.g., Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, or related discipline).
License mental health professional in the State of California (LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, or Licensed Psychologist) in good standing.
Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in mental health services, including direct clinical care and at least two (2) years in a supervisory or program management role.
Knowledge of evidence-based practices in mental health and co-occurring disorders, trauma-informed care, and recovery-oriented treatment.
Knowledge of HIPAA, client rights, DHCS Title 9 regulations, DSS licensing requirements, and Joint Commission behavioral health standards.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems and office productivity tools including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred education and experience :
Certification / Registration in drug and alcohol counseling through an approved Department of Health Care licensing board plus minimum of two (2) years’ experience supporting alcohol and drug treatment programs, with at least one year in a residential facility.
Minimum of two (2) years working in an acute mental health facility, inpatient psychiatric unit, or secured / lockdown behavioral health environment where crisis stabilization and safety protocols are routinely implemented.
