Job Title : Dental Hygiene Assistant
Location : Sundance Dental Care of Bloomfield
Schedule : Monday through Thursday from 7 : 30am to 5 : 00pm
We are seeking a motivated Dental Hygiene Assistant to join our dedicated dental team. As an essential part of our practice, you will play a key role in creating a smooth and comfortable environment for our patients, ensuring high-quality care while supporting the hygienist in both clinical and administrative tasks. Key Responsibilities :
- Patient Care & Comfort : Welcome and prepare patients for treatments or check-ups, ensuring their comfort and addressing any concerns they may have.
 - Assist with Procedures : Set up instruments, equipment, and materials needed for dental hygiene procedures. Assist the hygienist and ensure the dental room is well-prepared for each procedure.
 - Instrument Sterilization & Safety : Follow proper sterilization procedures and ensure that all dental instruments are sanitized in compliance with health regulations.
 - Lab Tasks & Post-Operative Care : Assist with lab tasks as directed and provide patients with post-operative care instructions.
 - Record Maintenance : Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, assisting with patient charts, treatment documentation, and payment procedures.
 - Scheduling & Office Support : Assist in scheduling patient appointments and ensuring the office runs smoothly with minimal disruptions. Keep the dental room clean, organized, and well-stocked.
 - Regulated Tasks : Perform non-surgical tasks such as coronal polishing, if certified, and assist with other regulated tasks as allowed by local regulations.
 
Requirements & Qualifications :
Experience Level : OpenCertification : Additional Dental Assistant certifications or Radiology Certifications are a plus, but not required.Skills & Knowledge :In-depth knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization methods, and infection control protocols is a plus, but not required.
Familiarity with dental procedures and treatments is a plus, but not required.Understanding of health and safety regulations in a dental office is a plus, but not required.Experience with dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) is preferred.Clinical Competence : Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks, such as coronal polishing, and assist with other dental procedures.Communication & Patient Care : Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with patients, providing clear instructions and ensuring their comfort.Organization & Attention to Detail : Strong organizational skills with an eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.Team-Oriented : Ability to work effectively in a team environment while providing high-quality patient care.Benefits :
