Unit Specifics : Number of Beds : 35

Patient Ratios : 5-7 : 1

Unit staffing description- (unit secretaries and tech availability) : Techs per census, usually 2-4

Type of equipment : Vitals machine, Baxter IV pumps, SCD’s, Bladder scanner

Documentation system : Meditech

Scheduling requirements : 12 hr shifts, every other weekend

Floating policy : may be floated to other Med Surg depts.

Patient Experience requirements : Rehab experience preferred

Must have :

Med / Surg or PCU experience

BLS and VA License

Preferred : Rehab experience

Procedures performed on unit : Med administration to include IV’s, PICC, PEG tube admin; Bladder scans, Trach care, Tube feeding, Foley cath, Bladder irrigation, Blood Administration
