Job description

Position : Sales Engineer

Requirements :

  • Academic Background : Degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (preferably with a professional license).
  • Languages : Bilingual in English and Spanish. Minimum English proficiency at the C1 level (speaking and writing) for interaction with international clients, presentations, and technical documentation.
  • Technical Experience : Deep knowledge of industrial machinery manufacturing processes, mechanical design, or process automation. Ability to understand drawings, technical specifications, and complex industrial requirements.
  • Commercial Experience : Minimum of 3 years in technical or consultative B2B sales within industrial sectors. Experience managing full sales cycles, from prospecting to closing.
  • Communication Skills : Strong verbal and written communication skills, adaptable to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Technical Presentation : Proven ability to deliver effective technical solution presentations, both on-site and via virtual platforms. Experience with tools such as PowerPoint, SolidWorks Composer, AutoCAD, or similar to support presentations is desirable.
  • Commercial Empathy and Networking : High social connection skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to develop long-lasting business relationships.
  • Results Orientation : Proactive focus on achieving commercial objectives with strategic thinking and a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Mobility and Travel Availability : Willingness to travel nationally and internationally as required by business demands.

Preferred :

  • Certifications or diplomas in technical sales, negotiation, or commercial management.
  • Knowledge of CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, or others).
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, automation, robotics, energy, or related industries.
  • Skills and Competencies for the Position :

    Technical Skills

  • Industrial technical knowledge : In-depth understanding of industrial machinery, automation, manufacturing processes, and / or technology solutions applied to industry.
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings : Ability to analyze mechanical, electrical, and control diagrams.
  • Technical solution presentation : Expertise in preparing and presenting technical proposals tailored to specific client needs.
  • Technical software proficiency : Experience with tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar. Experience with simulation or 3D design tools is desirable.
  • Technical English proficiency : Ability to read, write technical documentation, and communicate fluently with foreign clients.
  • Cognitive / Soft Skills

  • Analytical thinking : Ability to understand complex client needs and translate them into viable, profitable solutions.
  • Problem-solving : Proactive and creative approach to overcome technical or commercial challenges throughout the sales cycle.
  • Continuous learning : Interest in staying updated on new technologies, products, and industry trends.
  • Interpersonal Skills

  • Effective communication : Ability to convey technical ideas to various levels (engineers, buyers, managers, etc.).
  • Active listening : Deep understanding of client needs through empathetic and detail-oriented listening.
  • Influence and persuasion : Skill in building technical and commercial arguments to help with close consultative sales.
  • Interpersonal relationships : Ease in networking, building trust, and establishing long-term business relationships.
  • Commercial / Business Competencies

  • Results orientation : Consistent focus on meeting or -exceeding established sales targets.
  • Key Account Management : Ability to manage long-term relationships with strategic clients.
  • Negotiation : Capability to negotiate technical and commercial terms beneficial to both parties.
  • Time and priority management : An Effective organization to handle multiple sales opportunities at different stages of the cycle.
  • CRM and digital sales tools usage : Proficiency in platforms for efficient management of leads, opportunities, sales, and clients
  • Mobility and Availability :

  • Availability for national and international travel according to business needs.
  • Attend trade fairs, expos, and client industrial plant visits.
  • Compensation :

  • Fixed annual salary : $55,000 to USD 60,000
  • Sales commissions
