Job Title : Phlebotomist I (Immediate Hiring)

Job Description

As a Phlebotomist I, your primary role is to support the laboratory team by performing various assigned duties, troubleshooting, training, and recommending workflow improvements. You will be responsible for collecting and storing specimens in accordance with established procedures while ensuring proper labeling and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws, label specimens, and centrifuge them as needed.
• Record maintenance data and perform decontamination.
• Update patient information as required.
• Collect and store specimens, explaining procedures clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrate technique using straight and butterfly needles.
• Understand and comply with physicians' orders.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
• Ensure 100% accuracy in matching test requisitions to scripts.
• Package specimens for transport and store samples at required temperatures.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
• Attend annual department training sessions.
• Answer telephone inquiries and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.

Work Environment

This role requires the individual to perform over 100 draws daily in a Patient Service Center (PSC). The individual will work as part of a team and undergo approximately one week of training at the start of the role.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Atlanta, Georgia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.75 - $18.50 / hr.
