Job Description for Bus Driver

Position Summary :

The bus driver is responsible for operating a school bus safely and efficiently to transport students to and from school, ensuring adherence to established routes and schedules. This position requires a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements and a commitment to maintaining a safe and orderly environment on the bus.

Full-Time (Classified)

FLSA Status : Non-Exempt

Work Term : 182 Days

Full-Time Salary Range :

MCBOE Salary Schedule

Qualifications :

• High school diploma (required)
• CDL license by the Alabama Department of Public Safety
• Bus driver license by the Alabama State Department of Education
• Ability to pass a drug and medical screening
• Possess excellent driving skills and an acceptable driving record
• Fingerprint clearance with the Alabama State Department of Education prior to the start date

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand for extended periods of time. The employee must also talk, hear, stand, and walk.
