American Art Clay Company (AMACO) was founded in 1919 by Ted O. Philpott. AMACO is known for being the first to commercially manufacture ceramic and non-ceramic clays, lead-free glazes, electric kilns and potter’s wheels. AMACO is a founding member of the Arts and Creative Materials Institute, which established safety standards for children’s art materials in 1936. Today AMACO continues to manufacture ceramic supplies with the highest standards of quality and safety.

We are looking for a Maintenance Technician that will be a part of the continuous improvement of AMACO. As Maintenance Tech, you will be responsible for technical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair with responsibilities associated with the manufacturing of various formulated and mechanical goods. Includes the upkeep of the company facility and property.

Responsibilities / What you’ll do :

Mechanical :

• Lubricate, adjust, and replace shafts, gearboxes, bearings, chains, gears and other devices.
• Inspect and repair various machines, equipment, and facility items using hand tools and specialized tools.
• Maintain a variety of production equipment (mills, mixers, conveyors, fillers, cappers, labelers, etc.).
• Facilitate basic maintenance of company vehicles and powered equipment.

Electrical :

Strong mechanical aptitude

Organized and self-managing w / changing priorities

Basic electrical troubleshooting

Blueprint / technical document reading

Use of hand tools & precision measuring equipment

Indoor / outdoor work, all seasons / temperatures / conditions

Use analog and digital meters & testers

Lift 50 lbs. independently

manipulate / re-position more than 50 lbs. with assistance.

Welding (MIG / TIG) Oxy / Acetylene Torch

Manual lathe, mill, drill press, grinder, saws, benders

3 phase 208-480 VAC knowledge

Understanding of blueprints, diagrams, schematics and manuals

You should be proficient in :
