We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Bakery Retail Store Manager to help us deliver on these goals.
THE ROLE :
As the Bakery Retail Store Manager at Ayu Bakehouse, you set the tone for our guest experience and team culture. You are responsible for the day-to-day excellence of the store, leading with consistency, presence, and care. Your role is to ensure operations run smoothly, hospitality feels genuine, products are showcased beautifully, and our values of sustainability, generosity, and customer satisfaction are reflected in every detail.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES :
Customer Experience & Leadership
- Lead by example reflecting Ayu’s values
- Coach staff in real time on service, product knowledge and upselling
- Maintain an atmosphere that is inviting to guests
Team Management and Development
Build a motivated, accountable team through clear communication, ongoing feedback, and recognition.Foster a positive, professional culture where expectations are clear and follow-through is consistent.Conduct regular check-ins with staff to support growth and alignment.Keep team up to date on product knowledge and presentation practicesOperational Excellence
Ensure systems and daily routines are executed reliablyOversee waste sorting (compost, recycling, landfill) and maintain accountability for sustainable practicesKeep signage, displays, and store appearance tidy and current; request replacements or updates as neededMaintain communication platforms (Slack, schedules, notes) to keep staff informed and connectedFinancial and Administrative Tasks
Manage inventory, forecasting and ordering to meet sales and waste-reduction goalsOversee cash handling and daily reporting with accuracy and integrityEffective use of technology such as : Mac Systems, Square, Slack , Alarm.com, Sonos, Google AppsQUALIFICATIONS :
Background in hospitality management and food & beverageProven leadership experience; strong communication and problem-solving skillsBarista experience preferredAbility to manage multiple priorities and stay calm under pressureCapable of standing for an 8-hour shift and ability to lift 50+lbsDOH certification required - company will cover cost of if neededThis position requires weekend and holiday availability40-50hrs per weekPERSONAL TRAITS :
