About The Position

Job Title : ECHO TECH REGISTERED

Experience : One year of experience in cardiac ultrasound (echocardiography) preferred

License : Currently registered as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) required

Certifications : BLS from the American Heart Association required

Must-Have :

• Ability to provide on-call coverage outside of scheduled hours
• Proficient in the operation and maintenance of diagnostic and therapeutic equipment
• Ability to recognize and promptly act on unusual results or patient responses
• Ability to adjust approach based on patient and family understanding of test procedures

Description :

Provides specialized cardiovascular care while maintaining maximum patient safety and comfort.

Performs and reviews a baseline patient assessment and evaluates patient response to diagnostic cardiac procedures.

Performs accurate and thorough echocardiograms as ordered by a physician.

Performs specialized testing using computer-assisted devices, including TEE, Stress Echo, and Pharmacological Stress Echo.

Cross-trained to perform EKGs, Treadmills, and Holter monitors as needed.

Maintains and reviews equipment, ensuring proper function and calibration of machines.

Maintains a high skill level through participation in ongoing education and attendance at staff meetings.

Independently prioritizes clinical and administrative work and identifies process improvements.

Processes patient and department records, ensuring documentation of performed tests according to standards.

Must be able to deal with various personality types, ages, and levels of patient consciousness.

Promptly troubleshoots and corrects recording instrument malfunction or unusual patient problems that interfere with recordings.
