Position Summary
The Senior Revenue Accountant will play a key role in supporting the companys revenue recognition process under ASC 606, ensuring timely and accurate month-end close, and contributing to process improvements and automation initiatives. Reporting to the Revenue Manager, this role will handle complex revenue allocations, support billing and invoicing processes, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide accurate reporting and insights. The Senior Revenue Accountant will also be instrumental in identifying opportunities to streamline workflows and enhance compliance with company policies and standards.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue Recognition & Accounting
- Perform detailed contract reviews to identify performance obligations, transaction price, and allocation under ASC 606.
- Prepare and record monthly revenue journal entries and reconciliations.
- Support the month-end close process, ensuring deadlines are met and financial reporting is accurate.
- Maintain documentation to support revenue recognition policies and audit requirements.
Process Improvements & Systems
Assist with automation of ASC 606 allocations, SSP updates, and contract reporting.Collaborate with IT, Billing, and Finance teams to improve integrations between Salesforce, ERP, and reporting tools.Reporting & Analytics
Prepare schedules and reports to support revenue analysis.Support the Revenue Manager in advanced analytics on renewals, customer spend, and regional / product-level performance.Assist in monitoring DSO and other revenue-related KPIs.Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work with Billing to ensure invoicing aligns with contract terms and customer requirements.Provide timely support for external audit requests related to revenue.Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or progress toward CPA preferred.3+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in revenue recognition or related role.Solid understanding of ASC 606 in a SaaS or software environment.Experience with ERP systems (Sage Intacct preferred), Salesforce, and Excel / BI reporting tools.Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.Excellent analytical and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset.Performance Metrics
