Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position in Michigan, requiring OB and L&D experience and an active MI RN license.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a 15-bed LDRP unit with 3 triage bays and 2 operating rooms
  • Covers antepartum, labor and delivery, OR circulating, scrub, newborn nurse at delivery, and couplet care
  • Provides care for OB, mother / baby, and L&D patients
  • Follows AWHONN guidelines for patient ratios
  • Uses Epic for documentation
  • Works night shifts (4x12 hours, 19 : 00-7 : 30)
  • Required to work every other weekend
  • No on-call requirement
  • Floats to mother / baby and L&D at nearby facility (up to 27 miles) as needed
  • May float within the facility as a sitter
  • Must work in all areas of LDRP
  • Nurses perform lab draws and hearing screens on newborns using ALGO 5 Machine
  • Training provided for newborn hearing screens
  • Scrubs are provided
  • Only one holiday request off permitted (either the holiday or immediate day but not both)
  • No requested time off permitted in the first 8 days of contract
  • Travelers are the first to float
  • Return staff must have 6 months between assignments
  • Locals accepted at the same rate with no radius restrictions
  • Modules must be completed during orientation and annually, totaling 8 self-reported hours

  • Active Michigan RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of L&D experience
  • Certifications : ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NRP, AWHONN Intermediate and / or NCC C-EFM
  • Preferred : AWHONN Advanced certification
  • Skills required : Circulating, Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM), Triage
  • Scrub experience preferred
  • Experience with Epic documentation preferred
  • Flu vaccination required or exemption provided within 48 hours of contract
  • References required
