We are a prosthetic and orthotic company located in the midwest searching for a dependable Orthotic and Prosthetic Fabrication Technician for our central fabrication lab in Merrillville, IN. This is an entry-level, full-time position, great for someone searching for a rewarding career.

The hours are Monday-Friday 8 am-5 pm. We offer on-the-job training, sick / vacation time, health benefits, paid holidays, and 401K with a company match.

Job Responsibilities

• Fabricate and repair custom prosthetic and orthotic devices creating artificial limbs
• Sawing, carving, cutting, grinding wood, plastic, and metal
• Using various hand tools
• Working with sheet plastic and fiberglass
• Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
• Working with your hands
• Attention to detail

Requirements :

Must be mechanically inclined

Flexible to travel to other company locations

Must have reliable transportation

Must have organizational, time management, and planning skills

Must have great interpersonal and verbal skills

Ability to work effectively as a team member

Education :

High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience working in a manufacturing environment is a plus

Experience working as a handyman is a plus

Comfortable using a variety of hand tools and machinery

Job Type : Full-time

Salary : From $14.00 per hour
