As a Security Officer - Armed Retail Site Patrol in Austin, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail / Malls, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in helping to deter security-related incidents and creating a welcoming environment at a retail and mall location. Your responsibilities will include routine armed patrols, maintaining a visible presence to support a secure atmosphere, and delivering outstanding customer service. Position Type : Full Time

Pay Rate : $22.00 / Hour

Job Schedule : Day Time

What You'll Do :

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while maintaining a professional presence.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and / or suspicious behavior.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and high-traffic areas to observe and report any unusual activity within the retail environment.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, visitors, and Allied Universal management regarding security-related matters.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate incident reports and daily activity logs as required by site protocols.
  • Support emergency response activities as needed, following established procedures and protocols.

  • Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • Possess a valid Armed Guard Card or License.
  • Possess a Level III Armed Certification if required in Texas.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
