Field Recruiter
The Field Recruiter is responsible for full lifecycle recruiting for multiple requisitions, developing and maintaining a talent pipeline, fostering relationships with prospective employees, and identifying top talent that represents CBC's culture of Humble, Hungry, and Smart. This role will serve as a strategic recruiting partner by consulting with hiring managers regarding the recruiting process and candidate experience. This individual will attend hiring and educational events along with other onsite hiring events. The position also holds decision-making authority for hiring Deckhand positions, ensuring our vessels are staffed with motivated candidates aligned with company culture & safety standards.
There is meaningful travel (estimated 30%), and occasional work from home as needed.
Understand CBC's business needs to be effective at targeting, evaluating, and recommending the best candidates that meet CBC's value proposition and need for the position.
Orient new employees properly to help them understand CBC's culture, strategy, and people, with the goal of helping them provide value early and recognize CBC's value proposition.
Regularly report on learnings and observations from recruiting activity with the goal of continuously improving our targeting of the right candidates who have the ability to be successful, long-term CBC employees.
The Field Recruiter is appointed by the Director of HR and reports to the Recruiting Supervisor.
Two years' experience in full life cycle recruiting preferred. Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time for hiring events with some overnight travel. Experience with Workday technologies is preferred. Experience using a variety of sourcing channels & tools preferred.
Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent, college degree preferred. Knowledge of the inland barging industry is preferred. High proficiency in internet and computer use including Microsoft Office products and social media outlets. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to speak clearly in both positive and negative situations. Ability to prioritize and plan work activities, strong time management skills, and developing realistic action plans. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and independently.
