Reports To : Co-CEOs / Founders

FLSA Status : Exempt

Compensation Base Range : $250,000 - $300,000 Annually

This role is based in our state-of-the-art headquarters with a bright, spacious, shared workspace; scenic views of the Rocky Mountains; and a kitchen always stocked with healthy snacks, protein powder, and coffee. We offer a hybrid work environment with a minimum of three days in the office, but there's flexibility about which days and hours.

  • ABOUT THE ROLE :

    We are searching for a seasoned, high-performing Chief Marketing Officer to lead our marketing team. Our goal with this position is to be recognized as having some of the best brand marketing in the world. We are looking for someone who translates the overall marketing vision into integrated business plans, tactics, and deliverables. To do this, you'll need both a broad and in-depth understanding of current marketing strategies for global e-commerce brands.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Leadership Prowess : Exceptional leadership and team-building skills with the ability to motivate and inspire.
  • Oversee the budget and teams across the marketing department to ensure we are operating efficiently and tracking department level ROI.
  • Setting monthly and yearly marketing goals, with a measuring system for determining the success of each marketing program and budgets to support them.
  • Lead the Charge : Lead from the front mentality - primarily directing and supporting the work but willing to jump in on critical projects to help as needed.
  • Build a Winning Team : Recruit, develop, and inspire a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration and success.
  • Data is Your Guide : Leverage data and analytics to track progress, measure performance, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Forge Strategic Alliances : help see the overall vision for strategic partnerships and how they relate to the overall strategies of the brand - short and long term.
  • An expert understanding of the different approaches and marketing strategies required for B2B and D2C globally.
  • Communication Mastery : Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships across the organization that helps forge collaboration he ability to articulate complex strategies and performance metrics to leadership, craft compelling narratives that inspire and engage internal teams and external audiences, manage crisis communications, and effectively represent the brand across multiple channels to influence perceptions and drive growth.
  • Customer-Centric Focus : Spending time understanding our consumers and what makes them happy through both a hands-on approach and consumer research. We strongly believe that by truly understanding our customer base, we can better market to them.
  • Creative thinker with a results-driven approach and a passion for staying ahead of industry trends. We are looking for someone who is passionate and spends time looking at cutting edge marketing and incorporating it into their own work. Testing, refining, experimenting, and succeeding.
  • SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :

    You will lead, mentor, and grow a team of directors who have responsibilities that include e-commerce development, video media, social media, digital advertising, events, influencers / athletes, email marketing, SEO, product launches, creative media, blog / written content, brand partnerships, video series, AI / automation, Amazon and more. An understanding of how all of these play a role in growing a successful brand, being an expert in many of these areas, with a hunger and the time to become advanced in any areas needing more learning.

    COMPUTER SKILLS :

  • Advanced computer skills - e.g. touch type, have used common programs - Microsoft Suite (outlook, teams, excel, PowerPoint), Zoom, etc.
  • Used one or more project management software
  • Understanding of how most social media platforms work including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Reddit, YouTube, and Discord.
  • AdWords / Meta setup / analysis
  • Amazon Seller Central
  • Shopify experience
  • Adobe Suite (nice to have)
  • Understanding of NetSuite (nice to have)
  • Front / Back End Shopify (nice to have)
  • TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS :

  • Able to travel up to 8 times per year for 5 days per travel. Major fitness events, athlete meet and greet, brand partnerships, on-site video series oversight, etc.
  • EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE :

    Proven experience as a CMO, CEO, VP of Marketing preferably within a high-growth D2C e-commerce brand.

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university preferred in marketing, business, or related field.
  • 15+ years related experience
  • Experience marketing physical products
  • Ideally experience with apparel or supplements
  • Led a team of over 20, including director / VP roles reporting to you
  • Demonstrated experience in creating successful marketing and public relations collateral.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading successful omni-channel marketing strategies and initiatives
  • Demonstration of global brand building initiatives with a focus on revenue growth and profitability.
  • Experience growing omni-channel businesses including DTC E-Commerce, B2B, and retail.
  • Ability to initiate and monitor several simultaneous projects.
  • Portfolio of previous marketing projects.
  • Demonstrated success in creating video content that appeals to audiences on social media platforms
