What you'll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following :

  • Contribute to the development and execution of planning concepts and projects for the Press Shop department by preparing technical documentation and supporting defined scopes of work
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of production layouts and process designs, with consideration of material flow and space utilization
  • Independently prepare and analyze time studies, process data, and key production metrics to support planning decisions
  • Participate in the planning of equipment and tooling, including material supply concepts, and support creation of technical overviews
  • Assist in evaluating and drafting technical specifications for press shop equipment, tooling, and related systems
  • Support the creation of investment overviews, timelines, and economic evaluations for equipment and process improvements
  • Conduct comparative analyses of supplier offers and support procurement documentation and coordination
  • Participate in the launch phases (VFF, PVS, 0-series) by collecting production feedback, tracking deviations, and supporting implementation of corrective actions
  • Process change requests and improvement suggestions in coordination with engineering teams and update documentation accordingly
  • Collaborate with R&D, quality, and manufacturing teams to ensure product designs are aligned with production requirements
  • Analyze and document inefficiencies in production processes and contribute to identifying and implementing improvement measures
  • Independently manage small work packages or sub-projects within larger planning initiatives
  • Support supplier performance and capacity assessments based on predefined evaluation criteria
  • Assist in technical clarification and coordination with suppliers and external service providers
  • This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Columbia, South Carolina.
  • The responsibilities of this role require daily attendance in office with in-person meetings and events regularly.
  • Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred
  • At least 2 years' experience in production or manufacturing planning, ideally in automotive or press shop
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes, layouts, and equipment planning
  • Proficient in MS Office; CAD (e.g., AutoCAD) and ERP (e.g., SAP) skills are a plus
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Fluent English skills (spoken and written)
  • Adaptable and committed to continuous improvement

    This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

    Initial base salary range = $80,000.00 - $97,500.00
