Operator - Second Shift

The Opportunity :

Avantor is looking for an Operator on our Nusil site. This role will be a full-time position based in Carpinteria, CA. You will have the opportunity to work closely with a very diverse team in a phenomenal environment. NuSil is involved in the healthcare, aerospace, and biotech industries. Second Shift : M-F, 2 pm-10 : 30 pm (Overtime as needed)

What we're looking for

Education : High School diploma or GED preferred .

Experience : 1-2 years of work in packaging or distribution.

Certification(s) : None required .

Preferred Qualifications :

Experience in a chemical plant.

Understanding / familiarity with cGMP and RCRA training.

How you will thrive and create an impact

Carry out safety precautions.

Responsible for ensuring the lines are set up and running to the production schedule in accordance with work orders.

Understand line and pump configuration and be able to clean and inspect lines as well as perform line change-overs as needed.

Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and ensure that items that fail checks are addressed.

Stage and unload railcars and tank trucks.

Take bulk samples from both railcars and tank trucks and deliver to the QC lab.

Take particle count samples and run particle count tests.

Prepare customer trucks to include sealing, sampling, and associated paperwork. Inspect and close MPOs.

Keep accurate production records.

Collaborates with Supervisors and Maintenance Personnel to resolve equipment set-up and operations.

Work with the QA Dept to understand, recognize, and rectify quality issues. Has the authority and responsibility to stop the line and notify QA of a contamination event.

Ability to perform the duties of both a packaging operator and material handler.

Handle hazardous and universal waste according to local, state, and federal regulations.

Performs other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.

Demonstrate mechanical ability.

Critical decision-making skills, creativity, and multi-tasking ability.

Pay Transparency :

The expected pre-tax pay for this position is

$41,200.00 - $68,700.00

Actual pay may differ depending on relevant factors such as prior experience and geographic location.
