Position Overview / Responsibilities for the Referral Coordinator :
- Serve as a primary point of contact for patients and visitors, creating a welcoming environment
- Effectively communicate in a professional and positive manner
- Handle difficult and stressful situations calmly and professionally
- Operate general office equipment such as computers, printers, scanners, and telephones
- Organize information or data for easy retrieval and use
- Successfully complete training orientation program(s) and competencies
- Use Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications
Required Skills for Referral Coordinator :
Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a clinical / ambulatory care settingProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)Basic knowledge of insurances, including eligibility and benefit coverageCritical thinking skills and ability to adapt quickly to changing prioritiesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsHigh school diploma, GED or higher level degreePreferred : Experience with electronic scheduling and insurance / HMO authorizationsWhat’s in it for you?
