Position : Certified Nurse Assistant
Department : Nursing Geriatrics
Shift : Days / Evenings / Nights, 5x8 hrs
Pay : $22 / hr to $24 / hr on W2
Job type : Contract
Duration : 13 weeks
Key Responsibilities
Personal Care & Hygiene
- Assist residents with bathing, grooming, dressing, and oral care
- Provide incontinent and skin care as needed
- Help residents prepare for bed and assist with daily routines
- Support resident independence and participation in personal care
Mobility & Transfers
Assist with transfers using mechanical lifts and buddy systemHelp residents with walking and mobility exercisesReposition residents regularly to prevent skin issuesPerform range of motion exercises and apply support devices as directedMonitoring & Reporting
Record vital signs, intake / output, and bowel movementsObserve and report changes in residents’ condition or behaviorAssist with documenting care and communicating with the nurse-in-chargeFeeding & Nutrition
Help residents with meals, feeding as necessaryEncourage fluid intake and monitor nutritionReport concerns with intake or output to nursing staffEnvironment & Safety
Keep resident areas clean and organizedRespond promptly to call bells and alarmsReport safety hazards or equipment issuesFollow protocols during emergencies and for infection controlRequired Skills & Qualifications
Compassionate communication and resident care skillsBasic knowledge of skin care and patient safetyAbility to follow instructions and document care accuratelyLong-term care experience preferredEducation & Certification
High School Diploma or GEDCompletion of a New York State–approved CNA training program (100+ hours)Active NYS Nurse Aide CertificationBasic Life Support from the American Heart Association
