Job Title : RN CVICU Pediatrics Profession : Registered Nurse Specialty : Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Pediatrics Duration : 13 Weeks Shift : Nights Hours per Shift : 12 Experience : Minimum one year of pediatric CVICU experience required. License : Current RN License issued by the state board of nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC). Certifications : Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association. PALS Certification (American Heart Association). Must-Have : Pediatric CVICU experience. Willingness to float to PICU, NICU, and CVSD. Description : Under general supervision, provides nursing care in a hospital to patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex. Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients. Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments. Notes all changes in physician orders for assigned patients. Assists physicians in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatment. Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients. Observes physiological manifestations of patients and intervenes when necessary. Administers medication as prescribed. Initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products. Delivers patient care competently. Interacts with patients and families to share care plans during their hospital stay and at discharge. Informs patients and families of hospital procedures. Makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. Delegates tasks to support staff. Performs other duties as assigned.
