Pipeline and Terminal Operations

Primary Responsibilities
This position is responsible for working with other Managers Control Center in leading and directing the activities of the Pipeline Control Center Operations group comprised of Pipeline Controllers (PC's) and Lead Pipeline Controllers (LPC's), who are all direct reports. This operation is a 24x7 / 365 operation which is responsible for operating of Energy Transfer Liquids pipelines across multiple states from the Houston, TX Control Center. The Manager must assist and / or direct the PC's and LPC's in managing on-going day-to-day operations and / or abnormal & emergencies. The Manager has the overall responsibility of coordinating work plans for line and station work throughout the pipeline systems by consulting with field supervisors, engineers and pipeline scheduling on current issues, upcoming projects and by being proactive in identifying deficiencies to assure safe operations.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent pipeline operations experience. 8+ years of experience.
Valid driver's license. Must have strong leadership ability, strong computer skills and strong verbal and written communications skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of management, engineers, and SCADA System employees.
Special Considerations
On call availability 24 / 7. Must be able to work shiftwork related to 24 / 7 / 365 operations (if required).
Working Conditions
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Usually, normal office working conditions. Occasional overnight travel may be required. Temporary work relocation due to Emergency Events as required. Occasional visits to industrial / manufacturing settings which may include hazardous materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
