Responsibilities
- The Lead Field Service Technician ("Certified Nerd") will complete desktop configurations, installations and upgrades of personal computer hardware and software, perform inventories and preventative maintenance, provide software and operating system support on Mac and all versions of Windows. The Nerd must have strong field service background and customer service skills. Nerds must have solid technical skills, good communication skills and the desire to be a part of growing and exciting team.
- Onsite computer solutions for Windows-based PCs and Apple computers
- PC Hardware and software fault isolation and repair
- Virus protection and Spyware / Adware removal
- Data recovery and loss prevention
- Computer security enhancement
- System repair and upgrades
- Support creation of home and small business solutions to solve customer short and long term needs
- Software upgrade and installation
- Experience in working with non-technical customers and setting them at ease
- Network installation and maintenance (wired, wireless, LAN, WAN) - Primarily focused on in-home solutions
Qualifications
2-5 years of experience with Windows-based PCs (Win7, Win8, Win10) and networkingStrong knowledge of PC troubleshooting and repair, both hardware and software / OSKnowledge of network troubleshooting, wiring, PC troubleshooting (ex. Network+, MCSE, etc.)Proficiency with peer-to-peer and client / server network configurations and troubleshootingBenefits
