One of my clients in Fairfax, VA is looking to add a Tax Manager to their team! The Manager is accountable for all phases of the client tax engagement, including budget, staff, planning, production, first‑level or final review, total work quality and profitability of the engagement. Senior Managers are in a leadership role, setting an ethical, technical, quality and leadership example for direct reports and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Oversee client service and manage client relationship including billing and collecting.
• Drive firm growth and profitability of industry / specialty area by generating new client relationships and further developing services provided to existing clients.
• Sign tax returns.
• Develop, train, and lead team members to greater levels of effectiveness and engagement by providing detailed review and analysis of their work while monitoring key employee performance metrics.
• Contribute to strategic planning and direction of the Tax department.
• Monitor legislative / regulatory tax law developments and update tax practices that could affect the business climate.
• Build cross‑functional relationships to ensure excellent client service through an integrated service approach.
• Be an expert in professional practice and area of specialization.
• Serve a key role in a specialty group, industry niche, or tax committee.
• Complete special projects as assigned.
