As the Senior Civil Engineer / Practice Leader for the Knoxville office, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening and expanding the firm’s East Tennessee presence . You’ll lead local project delivery, mentor a talented team of engineers, and drive client and business development initiatives — all while shaping the long-term strategy for one of the firm’s key growth markets.
This position mirrors a highly successful structure in the firm’s Charlotte office and is considered a top-tier strategic hire (1A-level priority) .

Key Responsibilities
Serve as the civil lead for the Knoxville office.Oversee project execution, quality, and delivery.Mentor and develop a team of approximately 20 professionals.Act as the bridge between Knoxville operations and regional leadership.Support business development, client engagement, and proposal activities.Day-to-Day Focus
Manage and deliver commercial and residential site development projects.Provide technical direction and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers.Develop proposals, project scopes, and budgets.Collaborate closely with clients, municipalities, and subcontractors.Qualifications
PE License (active or in progress).BS in Civil Engineering or related field.8–15+ years of relevant civil site development experience.Proven ability to manage teams, projects, and client relationships.Strong understanding of technical project delivery and budgeting.Familiarity with the East Tennessee market is a plus.Package & Benefits
