Civil Designer / Senior Civil Designer

Overview

Timmons Group is looking for a talented Civil Designer or Senior Civil Designer to join our dynamic Land Development Group in Charleston, SC . The qualified individual will perform civil site design tasks for a variety of land development projects. The complexity and fast paced nature of our client's needs creates a dynamic environment for our team members and fosters a culture of teamwork, diverse training opportunities, and builds a sense of ownership in the successful outcome of the project.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities includebut are not limited to the following :

• As an individual contributor, uses professional judgment to direct and independently complete assigned engineering designs.
• Lead and execute civil site design tasks across diverse land development projects.
• Collaborate closely with Project Managers and mentor junior engineers.
• Perform QA / QC reviews and ensure technical accuracy.
• Make impactful design decisions that align with client goals and project timelines.
• Identify and resolve technical, scheduling, or financial challenges.
• Support construction oversight and respond to contractor inquiries.
• Contribute to proposals, cost estimates, and client communications.
• Acts as technical expert on assigned projects when operating as an individual contributor and acts as Project Manager on smaller scope or specialty projects as assigned.
