Position Summary
The Valve Tester is responsible for performing pressure and functional tests on valves and associated components in accordance with company procedures, industry standards, and customer specifications. This role is crucial in maintaining product integrity, ensuring compliance, and supporting continuous quality improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and perform hydrostatic and pneumatic testing on gate valves, wellhead components, and tree equipment.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, test plans, and technical specifications to verify test parameters.
Inspect and verify valve assembly before and after testing for leakage, deformation, and overall functionality.
Document and report test results, deviations, and non-conformances clearly and accurately.
Operate test benches, gauges, and high-pressure testing equipment safely and efficiently.
Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of testing equipment.
Collaborate with the Quality and Engineering teams to resolve issues and improve testing processes.
Comply with all company safety policies and procedures, including PPE and lockout / tagout protocols.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or training in mechanical systems a plus.
2+ years of experience in valve testing or quality control in an industrial / manufacturing setting preferred.
Familiarity with ASME, API (e.g., API 6A, API 6D), and other applicable standards.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to lift heavy equipment and stand for long periods.
Strong commitment to safety and quality.
