Mechanical Maintenance Specialist — Sulfuric Acid Production

Location : Richmond, CA

A day in this role

You start your shift with a safety huddle at our Richmond sulphuric acid facility. After reviewing work orders in the CMMS, you head to the units :

• Open and clean tank vessels, ensuring safe isolation and permitting.
• Rebuild rotating equipment — pumps, gearboxes, and motors — then perform precision alignment of couplings and sheaves.
• Execute certified welding, cutting, and burning to repair or fabricate components.
• Replace piping and valves, verify fit-up, and test for leaks.
• Tend to general plant upkeep so systems and grounds remain inspection-ready.

Before clocking out, you close out work orders, record preventive maintenance, and complete safety documentation — every step aligned with SOPs. When needed, you respond as part of the site’s emergency response team. Off-shift callouts can occur, including weekends and holidays, and you’ll work outdoors in all weather and at heights while wearing full PPE.

Legal and pay information

Compensation : $49.07 / hr to start, non-exempt
