Electrical Project Engineer

Overview

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS :

Responsible for providing quotations and supporting calculations for Electrical / Controls modernization projects, for Schuler and Non Schuler products, in a timely manner, including the compilation of the scope of work, associated costs and lead-times.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Receive RFQ from regional sales team and review.
• Discuss project scope with the Regional Sales Manager and customer if necessary, to ensure a complete understanding of the scope of work.
• Visit customer with Regional Sales Manager to review site and discuss RFQ when necessary.
• Propose and present alternative solutions, if appropriate, and agree scope of work to be quoted.
• For budgetary quotations review historical database and identify prior quotes that can be used for reference.
• Discuss and agree sourcing strategy for SOW with Director of Service Sales
• Develop technical solution in line with customers RFQ, with input from Engineering, Field service, Affiliates and Suppliers.
• Review electrical circuit diagrams and BOMs to identify components to be replaced or upgraded.
• Write technical description for quotation that satisfies customers RFQ and all local regulations, and clearly describes our scope of supply.
• Provide calculation, timing plan and manpower estimate with input from Engineering, Field service, Affiliates, Purchasing and Project Management.
• Reviews the quotation and project calculation with the Director of Service Sales and agree quoted price.
• Ensure that the signature rights policy is followed prior to release of quotation for approval.
• Support regional sales manager in presenting the quotation to the customer including customer visits where necessary.
• Support regional sales manager with technical presentations on Schuler service products.
