What to Expect (Job Responsibilities) :

  • Evaluate and handle all underwriting aspects of formal and informal life insurance applications
  • Determine risk acceptance, modification, or declination based on medical history, occupational hazards, and financial background
  • Deliver competitive offers to drive sales and facilitate business placement
  • Communicate underwriting decisions effectively to customers and third-party firms
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather necessary information for risk selection and decision-making

    • What is Required (Qualifications) :

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3+ years of life insurance underwriting experience
  • Established life insurance underwriting authority limit of $3 million
  • Expert knowledge of risk selection and underwriting concepts
  • Proficient in underwriting administrative systems, product rules, and guidelines

    • How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications) :

  • 5+ years of underwriting experience with a minimum life insurance authority limit of $5 million
  • Experience with term and permanent life insurance underwriting
  • Background in third-party distribution, banking, or wire house underwriting
  • Completion of industry exams such as FLMI, FALU, CLU, or ChFC
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
