The Customer Solutions Engineer I role will support strategic and continuous improvement initiatives that help our customers optimize operations, increase capacity, and enhance their overall experience. This role works closely with sales professionals and customers to identify opportunities for improvement through packaging automation, process design, and Lean methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Project Support & Execution :

Assist in planning and executing customer-focused projects that support sales efforts in acquiring, retaining, and growing accounts.

  • Process Mapping & Analysis :
  • Conduct basic process mapping and identify savings opportunities with guidance. Support the development of improvement solutions.

  • Kaizen Participation :
  • Participate in customer site audits to observe operations, gather data, and contribute to identifying packaging and automation solutions.

  • Performance Tracking :
  • Maintain scorecards to track project outcomes and identify areas for improvement in solution offerings and project success rates.

  • Collaborative Engagement :
  • Work with sales executives and customers to implement simple layout and process changes using Lean / Six Sigma principles and packaging best practices.

  • Customer Presentations :
  • Present findings and recommendations to customer stakeholders, with support, including mid-level and senior leaders.

  • Sales Team Support :
  • Provide technical assistance to sales professionals across North America. Contribute to team development through knowledge sharing and collaboration.

    Shorr Packaging does not provide work authorization sponsorship for this position.

    The targeted compensation for this position is between $80k-$90k base plus targeted bonus, depending on skills and experience of the selected candidate.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience in a customer-facing, consulting or process improvement role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Awareness of operational best practices and ability to apply concepts with guidance.
  • Ability to identify and quantify savings opportunities and value potential.
  • Excellent facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail in developing and presenting project reviews
  • Travel for this role will be up to 50% nationally
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Project Management certification (CAPM or PMP).
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt or similar disciplines
  • Experience with packaging equipment or automation technologies.
