POSITION PURPOSE :
Under direction from the Production Supervisor and Setup A writes, sets up and adjusts machines to meet print requirements. Operates machines to manufacture a variety of standard parts, performs secondary operations and checks parts to close tolerances and finish requirements.

Salary Range : $28-$35 Hourly DOE

1st shift : 6 : 00 am - 2 : 30 pm

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

- Receive work assignments; drawings, sequence of operations and machine requirements such as feeds, speeds, dimensions and tolerances
\n
Grind tools and sets up machines for operations\n
Sets speeds, feeds, tooling arrangements and operational sequences\n
Select and prepare correct part(s) and loads into machine\n
Operate machine(s) as required through manipulating levers, hand wheels and by engaging power, adjusting flow of coolant, observing operations, checking dimensions and adjusting as necessary\n \n
RESPONSIBILITIES :

Receives work order, sets up machines and adjusts as necessary\n
Download or loads programs to machine through the system\n
May write programs\n
May operate multiple machines\n
Perform close tolerance machining operations such as centering, drilling, reaming, tapping, turning, milling, deburr at back side, file and / or sand\n
Operations may vary with approval of supervisor to compensate for variations in material and machining operations\n
Dress, grind or sharpen tools as necessary\n
Lubricate machines as needed with oil, grease and coolant\n
Will work from drawings specifications and job layouts using a variety of measuring instruments\n
Make machine and tool adjustments as needed\n
Obtain and return tools as required\n
Maintain cutting tools in proper working order\n
Checks parts per specification and ensure proper forms are completed including part tags, process sheets and timecards\n
Maintain and improve insert and tooling management\n
May help and train other staff\n
Must be quality conscious and continuously look for quality improvements\n \n
REQUIREMENTS :
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of knowledge, skills and / or abilities required.

High School Diploma or G.E.D.\n
3 to 5 years of machine setup operator experience in a manufacturing environment or as approved by manager\n
Maintain clean and orderly work area, including equipment and perform all assignments in safe manner\n
Mastercam experience a plus\n
G Code & M Code programming, writing and comprehension skills a plus\n
Exhibit core values of integrity and responsibility\n
Demonstrates the ability to read, write, speak and hear, interpret documents and instructions in written, oral, blueprint, diagram and schedule form in English\n
Perform basic math calculations\n
Ability to work at established levels of production\n
Ability to lift and carry of up to 50 pounds safely\n
Regularly required to sit, stand, stoop, crouch and kneel\n
Vision requirements include (corrective and non) close range, distance, color, peripheral, depth and ability to adjust focus\n
Comply with all company, safety and quality policies and procedures\n \n
