Pre-op and Pacu Nurse Assistant
The Pre-op and Pacu at Troy Beaumont are a fast-paced critical care unit that specialize in the preparation and recovery of patients who are undergoing a surgical procedure. Our department is comprised of three pre-op areas and three Pacu areas, specializing in both outpatient and inpatient surgeries. Staff who join our units should be teamwork oriented and possess strong critical thinking, organizational, and decision-making skills.
Scope of work:
- Provide patient care assignments as delegated by and under the direction of a registered nurse.
- Clerical/manages supplies/equipment in designated care areas.
- Provide care to the patient according to the plan of care, unit routine, and hospital policy.
- Document in electronic medical record.
- Acts as a receptionist and organizes daily work assignment based on unit priorities.
- Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures where appropriate and completes all position and unit safety related competencies and requirements on a timely basis.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Orientation:
- This position requires a full week of corporate orientation. The schedule is Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm. You will be required to attend the entire week consecutively.
Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Completion of nursing assistant program and/or one year of nursing assistant experience.
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support required.
- Current CNA certification preferred.
Hours of work: 7 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Monday to Friday.
