Description : POSITION SUMMARY
Reports to the Warehouse Manager and Assistant Warehouse Manager and is responsible for servicing customers in the field and maintaining the Company’s equipment and products. is responsible for cleaning, maintaining, fabricating, rebuilding, and repairing Company plant equipment with the goal of ensuring minimal plant downtime and adhering to the Company’s overall Quality Management System. The Maintenance Tech / Plant Operator will also be required to assist with warehouse and mud plant operations, plant production personnel and management with all other production-related activities, when and as needed.
Hourly rate : $26.00
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the set up (rig up) and care for equipment in the field and for maintaining such equipment including accurate and orderly records of all distribution of equipment and tracking of equipment taken out of service.
- Performs service calls to respond to issues in the field regarding bulk tanks or trans loading equipment including but not limited to bulk blowers.
- Performs corrosion inhibitor set ups and services equipment.
- Repairs equipment on sight, diagnoses inefficiencies, replaces parts and removes / replaces equipment from service if needed.
- Acts as a backup in Warehouse and duties may include but are not limited to :
- Ensures that products and materials are safely conveyed to or from storage areas or worksites by appropriate methods (e.g., hand, forklift, etc.).
- Safely loads and unloads materials and products from trucks.
- Accurately counts and monitors products to ensure proper credit and delivery.
- Ensures all materials are properly shrink-wrapped for safe transport and storage.
- Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, loading / unloading area, and workstations neat, maintaining a clean shipping supply area, and complying with all Company procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Contributes to team effort by maintaining ongoing communications with warehouse office, management, mechanics, and fellow personnel.
- Performs all duties safely in accordance with Company procedures and applicable safety requirements.
- Ability to drive to AES customer locations to deliver small pickup loads, air compressors, pumps, engineering equipment, etc.
- Assists mud plant operations and all other warehouse personnel, when and as needed.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by the Warehouse and / or Assistant Warehouse Manager
- Performs scheduled lubrication, maintenance, and clean-up (as directed) for all plant equipment.
- Repairs all plant equipment within the scope of his / her skill level.
- Assists plant production personnel, when and as requested by Company management.
- Maintains and updates required maintenance records for plant equipment.
- Reviews, tracks, and immediately reports to plant management any / all issues with plant equipment that could impact production processes, output, deadlines, workplace safety, and / or product quality.
- Responsible for housekeeping of the tool storage area, the shop area, any work area after the overhaul or repair of equipment or any fabrication projects, lube / oil storage area, diesel tank area, air compressor area, front drive area, and performs break-room clean up, when and as requested.
- Maintains, troubleshoots, and tests plant equipment, machinery and components.
- Identifies replacement parts for plant equipment, researches, and makes recommendations for procurement, when and as needed.
- Loads bulk or flatbed trucks, when and as needed.
- Performs all duties safely in accordance with Company procedures and applicable safety requirements.
- Supports and participates in the Company’s Quality Management System.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by the operations manager or other company management.
Requirements :
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED; Technical Degree in mechanical repair or another relevant field is a plus.At least five (5) years of prior relevant maintenance-related work experience; prior work experience involving mill maintenance would be highly advantageous.Prior experience working in an MHSA-regulated environment is a plus.Crane operator certification and work experience is essential.Forklift operation certification and work experience is essential.Bilingual language abilities (English / Spanish) are a plus.Valid driver’s license and the maintenance of a driving record satisfactory to the Company.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
Thorough knowledge of mechanical power transmissions, crushers, conveyor belts, Raymond mills, front end loaders, forklifts, bagging machines and basic fabrication concepts.Ability to operate, maintain, rebuild, and troubleshoot plant equipment used by the Company and to utilize power and manual tools required for the position.Knowledge of mechanical equipment design and general maintenance techniques.Superior trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with a wide variety of audiences.Highly self-motivated and directed.Willingness and aptitude to learn unfamiliar mechanical equipment, tools, and machinery and to stay informed of new technologies.Demonstrated attention to detail and mathematical skills to accurately count materials received and departing the warehouse, properly blend AES products, and conduct checks to ensure products conform to specifications.Willingness and ability to perform physically demanding work while maintaining AES’s high standards and commitment to safety.Excellent driving, loading, unloading, and forklift skills.Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose inefficiencies and repair equipment when possible or identify when equipment must be taken out of service.Must be able to deal with time constraints to load and unload materials in a timely and safe manner.Willingness and ability to precisely follow directions.Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.Willingness and ability to load sacked or liquid materials and assist with mixing / blending materials or other mud plant operations, when and as required.
