    \nPosition Overview

    \nType of Position : Travel

    \nDescription :

    \n\nNight Shift Registered Nurse Opportunity\n\nSchedule & Requirements\n\n \n\t

  • Night shifts : 7pm - 7am\n\t
  • Every other weekend and holiday rotations\n\t
  • 2 on-call shifts per 4-week period\n\t
  • Must be comfortable floating to ICU / ER / MS / MST\n\t
  • Cross-training required for multiple units (med / surg, ICU, ER)\n\t
  • MUST be able to work through the holiday season\n

    • \n\nLicense Requirements\n\n \n\t

  • Currently licensed by NYS as a registered professional nurse\n\t
  • BSN degree required\n\t
  • Critical care experience required\n

    • \n\nRequired Certifications\n\n \n\t

  • BLS, ACLS, PALS required through AHA or the RQI system during clinical orientation\n\t
  • NIHSS certification required\n\t
  • Basic Coronary Care within 6 months of hire\n\t
  • CPI certification within 90 days of hire\n

    • \n\nPreferred Certifications\n\n \n\t

  • Certification by the Emergency Nurses Association is recommended within 2 years of hire\n\t
  • TNCC recommended within 2 years of hire\n

    • \n\nRequired Skills & Qualifications\n\n \n\t

  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion\n\t
  • Ability to deal with people in a professional and courteous manner\n\t
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities\n\t
  • Enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling\n\t
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organization skills\n\t
  • Computer literacy\n\t
  • Two years experience floating to med surg / ICU / ER\n

    • \n\nPreferred Skills\n\n \n\t

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products\n\t
  • Electronic medical record experience\n

  • Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on assigned unit\n\t
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span\n\t
  • Possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to age-specific needs\n\t
  • Provide the care needed by pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient groups\n
