Job Details

Location : Bollinger Shipyards, Lockport, LA 70374
Work schedule : Minimum of 40 hours per week. Schedule may require up to 7 days per week depending on project / vessel schedule.
Duration : This is a full-time position in support of a new construction program.

Job Duties

The electronics installer will :

Report to the shipyard daily to perform assigned task without excessive instruction.

Use technical manuals and drawings to assemble, install, and terminate equipment. Inspect and test connectors including fiber, coax, multi-pin, and crimp lugs for various maritime communication systems.

Use and maintain all company-issued tools and equipment. This includes, but is not limited to cell phone, laptop, company work vehicle, specialty tools, and equipment.

Utilize PPE and the stop-work authority and follow all company HSE standards.

Job Requirements

The electronics installer must :

Have strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

Pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check.

Have 3+ years of marine electronic installation experience, preferred but not required.

Have the ability to read and understand electronic schematics.

Have the proven ability to use a multi-meter for basic electrical measurements.

Have authorization to work in the US.

Physical Requirements

The electronics installer must be able to :

Lift 60 pounds above head and carry 40 pounds for short periods of time.

Perform the following tasks for an extended period : stand, squat, stoop, kneel, push, pull, and work with hands above shoulders.

Climb stairwells and ladders and perform high-height service using fall-protection equipment.

Compensation

USD per hour, depending on experience
