The Physical Therapist Inpatient Rehabilitation will practice within a comprehensive rehabilitation department embedded in a hospital designated as a Stroke Center and Cardiac Center with a strong orthopedics program, creating a robust caseload in neurologic, cardiopulmonary, and postoperative orthopedic rehabilitation. The Physical Therapist Inpatient Rehabilitation will utilize state-of-the-art equipment and standardized outcome measures to drive functional gains for diverse patient populations in an acute and transitional setting.

Reporting to a Rehabilitation Services Manager, the Physical Therapist Inpatient Rehabilitation will be supported by friendly nurses and a collaborative, diverse healthcare professional team that includes occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, case management, and physician specialists. The Physical Therapist Inpatient Rehabilitation will complete comprehensive evaluations, develop individualized care plans, deliver gait and balance training, provide cardiopulmonary conditioning and neuro-reeducation, guide post-op orthopedic protocols, mentor rehab aides as appropriate, and contribute to interdisciplinary rounds and patient-centered discharge planning.
