We are looking for an experienced Human Resources (HR) Manager to join our team on a contract basis. This role requires a proactive and adaptable individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can contribute effectively to various HR functions, including payroll management, benefits administration, compliance, and employee relations. The position involves working closely with the HR team to support organizational goals and ensure smooth operations.

Responsibilities :

  • Oversee payroll processes for both union and non-union employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Administer benefits programs and assist employees with enrollment and inquiries.
  • Handle employee relations matters, providing guidance and resolution to support a positive workplace environment.
  • Manage recruitment efforts, particularly for sales positions, and facilitate onboarding for new hires.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies, conducting audits as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the HR Director and team to streamline processes and improve overall efficiency.
  • Utilize HRIS systems to maintain accurate records and generate reports.
  • Assist with interim support for payroll and compliance-related tasks.
  • Provide on-site HR presence daily, fostering strong communication and support for staff.
  • Contribute to creating a hybrid work model while maintaining effective HR operations.
  • At least 3 years of experience in human resources management or related roles.
  • Proficiency in payroll and benefits administration, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements and labor laws, including experience conducting audits.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems and ability to leverage technology for efficient operations.
  • Strong employee relations skills, with the ability to handle sensitive situations effectively.
  • Experience with recruitment and onboarding processes, particularly for high-volume hiring.
  • Thick-skinned and adaptable to a dynamic work environment.
  • Previous experience working with unionized employees is highly desirable.
