MEDIUM & HEAVY DUTY TRUCK SERVICE MANAGER

On-Site Fleet Service, Kenilworth, NJ

On-Site Fleet Service , a full-service Medium and Heavy Duty Truck Repair Company with 4 locations in New Jersey is currently interviewing applicants for the position of Service Manager.

We are only considering qualified and experienced candidates who have previously worked in a leadership role within a truck repair facility. This opportunity requires business management skills, diesel repair expertise and the ability to work well with customers and technicians.

Duties include but are not limited to the following :

  • Responsible for the daily operation of the shop including management of all shop staff and shop safety
  • Fulfilling operational goals and objectives of the Company
  • Ensuring maintenance, cleanliness and appearance of Company shop, vehicles, and equipment
  • Work jointly with sales staff in an effort to maintain a profitable shop
  • Maintaining good customer relations by addressing all customer concerns
  • Estimating of repairs as requested by customers
  • Entering of parts on invoices and preparation of all invoicing to customers
  • Communication to customers on job progress or delays in completion of jobs
  • Ensuring all repairs to customers vehicles are completed in a timely manner and to factory standards
  • Supervise Daily Workflow

Preferred qualifications are as follows :

  • Experience with multiple makes and models of medium and heavy duty trucks
  • Good computer knowledge and skills
  • Experience with BayMaster shop management software a plus
  • A minimum of 10+ years of experience in heavy and medium duty commercial vehicle service work is preferred
  • Must be a self-starter, be willing to attend training and willing to take the initiative, a sense of urgency is a must!
  • Knowledge of truck components
  • Requires the ability to prioritize and handle numerous tasks simultaneously
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • CDL Driver’s License is a plus
