Summary :

The Lead Extrusion Operator (mono) will perform duties in the extrusion department that focuses on the operation of extruders to produce quality products in a safe manner that is in accordance with the Sprinturf standards. The Lead Operator will work closely with the Shift Supervisor to build a team focusing on Safety, Quality, and Production.

Duties and Responsibilities :

The duties and responsibilities for this position are listed below. They include but are not limited to the following.

Working with the Shift Supervisor to lead initiatives in that department such as

  • Quality standards.
  • Run time efficiency.
  • Reduction of waste.
  • Reduction of change over time.
  • New Operator Training.
  • Operator Accountability.

Ability to interpret the Set-Up sheet and apply setting to the specified line.

  • Perform checks on lines in operation during shift to ensure setting and reading are correct.
  • Identify the equipment and components of the extrusion line.
  • Identify e-stops and when to use them.
  • Ability to perform proper shutdown procedure.
  • Ability to perform proper install and assemble the heads for each line and install.
  • Ability to perform proper start-up procedures correctly on all extrusion lines in the department.
  • Ability to understand the downstream equipment and the proper operation of the equipment.
  • Understand the proper operation of the dosing system.
  • Keep area and line free of any debris and / or waste.

    • Identify material needed for the line and where it is staged.

  • Issue material to line using NetSuite system.
  • Return material to inventory from line using NetSuite System.

    • Ability to identify and troubleshoot issues with machine and / or material.

  • Alarms
  • Off quality material.
