Tablet Coating Operator Tasks & Duties

Prepare sheet metal surfaces for coating by cleaning, sanding, masking, or applying pre-treatment solutions.

Clean equipment, utensils and room according to approved cleaning procedures

Record production activities on batch production record and logs using good documentation practices

Operate coating pans including checking inlet / outlet temperatures, airflow across pan, mist checker flow meters, gear pump calibration and solution spray rate, nozzle atomized air flow rate

Prepare coating solutions as required, load tablets, operate aqueous coating machines and maintain attention time to process variables and the indicators, (gauges, meters, control knobs and valves) that are provided

Upon completion of coating cycle, cool down tablet bed, and polish tablets if applicable. Coordinate testing of disintegration time and appearance results with Quality Assurance to ensure customer specifications are achieved

Follow BPR's, SOP's and GMP's

Operate powder coating spray equipment to apply coatings evenly on sheet metal products.

Adjust and monitor coating thickness, color consistency, and finish quality according to specifications.

Inspect coated parts for defects such as runs, sags, or uneven coverage, making corrections as needed.

Maintain coating equipment, spray guns, and curing ovens in good working condition.

Follow safety guidelines and wear proper PPE while handling coating materials and equipment.

Tablet Coating Operator Shift Info

Day Shift, 5am to 3 : 30pm

Monday - Friday

Tablet Coating Operator Qualifications (Requirements / Skills)

Tablet Coating Operator experience preferred

Able to pass a background check

Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen

Previous experience as a powder coater, industrial painter, or in a sheet metal fabrication environment is strongly preferred.

Knowledge of powder coating techniques, equipment operation, and curing processes.

Ability to read and understand work orders, blueprints, and specifications.

Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.

Familiarity with safety practices in a manufacturing or coating environment.
