Second Shift Site Manager

Industry Leading Manufacturing Company Urgently Hiring A Second Shift Site Manager! Location : Elmwood Park, New Jersey Job Type : Permanent, Full-Time Pay Rate : $110,000 - $130,000 annually (depending on experience) Shift : Monday to Friday, 2 : 30 PM to 11 : 00 PM (flexibility required up to 12 : 00 AM and occasional Saturdays)

Job Summary

The Second Shift Site Manager will lead and coordinate all second shift operations across Manufacturing, Warehouse, Maintenance, Quality, and Safety departments in a food manufacturing facility. This role ensures operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and a safe, productive work environment while driving performance and fostering team engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee second shift operations to meet production, warehouse, and maintenance goals.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, SQF, and sanitation standards.
• Supervise department supervisors and hourly staff.
• Plan labor and production schedules to meet demand and optimize efficiency.
• Monitor production formulations and batching for product quality.
• Drive KPIs including yield, throughput, waste, and downtime.
• Manage warehouse inventory : receiving, storage, FIFO, and handling.
• Coordinate maintenance activities and escalate critical issues.
• Promote safety culture and enforce OSHA and plant safety policies.
• Utilize digital tools (e.g., Red Zone, ERP / WMS) for tracking and communication.
• Lead shift handoff and KPI meetings with cross-functional teams.
• Act as main decision-maker during second shift.
• Train and coach team members to uphold company values.
• Participate in HACCP and food safety initiatives.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Engineering, Operations Management, or equivalent experience. 5+ years of leadership in food manufacturing or related environment. Proven experience managing cross-functional teams. Strong knowledge of GMP, HACCP, SQF, and regulatory standards. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred. Proficient in digital production systems (Red Zone, ERP / WMS). Strong leadership, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

Experience with production paperwork and batch documentation. Experience with fryer or thermal processing environments. Flexibility to work second shift hours and occasional weekends / holidays.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $110,000.00 - $130,000.00 / yr. Health benefits - including dental and vision 401k plan with matching program PTO, holiday, vacation, sick time accrued.
