What You'll Do Student Evaluation & Assessment : Assess pupils' visual functioning and determine eligibility and appropriate placement.IEP Development : Create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) with measurable goals.Instruction & Integration : Teach specialized skills, including braille and mobility, and facilitate student integration.Curriculum & Consultation : Develop curriculum activities and provide resources to classroom teachers.Classroom Management : Maintain a positive learning environment and monitor student progress.Documentation & Compliance : Ensure compliance with state regulations and complete necessary records.Physical & Mental Requirements : Demonstrate stamina and mobility for classroom activities.Additional Duties : Fulfill other assigned responsibilities as needed. What You'll Bring Education & Credentials : Bachelor's Degree and current Illinois (PEL) Professional Educator License with endorsement.Specialized Skills : Proficiency in braille and use of technological aids.Certifications : First Aid and CPR Certification within six months of employment.Abilities : Strong organizational skills and effective communication.Desirable Experience : Experience working with children with visual impairments.
