About Us

J. Blanton is a fast-growing (5x growth in the last 3-years) consumer marketing company…not your traditional plumbing company!

We’re already one of the fastest growing residential service companies in the country, and we’re on a mission to become the largest, and most respected over the next 30-years!

With the heart-of-a-startup, we are disrupting one of the largest and oldest industries in the country (plumbing), and we believe our momentum and ambition will lead us to build a $500 million dollar company over the next 20 years.

Role Overview

We’re looking for a motivated Drain Technician with at least 6 months of hands-on experience and basic rodding knowledge. Don’t worry if you’re still learning — we’ll teach you everything you need to know to build a long-term plumbing career with us.

As a Drain Technician, you’ll focus on diagnosing, unclogging, and repairing residential sewer and drain systems. You’ll be the first on-site to solve urgent drain problems and play a key role in identifying opportunities to recommend further repairs or replacements, working closely with our team to provide complete solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to residential drain and sewer calls, locate blockages, and restore flow
  • Use drain cleaning machines, sewer cameras, and other specialized equipment to diagnose issues (training provided)
  • Accurately assess sewer line conditions and recommend appropriate solutions or further repairs
  • Identify opportunities to convert service calls into leads (e.g., major sewer repairs or replacements)
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with homeowners about findings, options, and pricing
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment on every job
  • Document work performed and assist with preparing estimates for larger projects when needed

Requirements

  • At least 6 months of experience in plumbing or drain work, with basic rodding knowledge
  • Willingness to learn advanced drain cleaning and diagnostic skills (training provided)
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to operate and maintain basic drain cleaning equipment
  • Good problem-solving skills and a strong work ethic
  • Strong communication and customer service skills — you know how to build trust with homeowners
  • Physically fit and able to work in tight spaces, basements, and outdoors as needed
  • A positive, can-do attitude and eagerness to grow in the trade
  • Benefits

  • Competitive compensation with high earning potential.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
  • 401(k) with company match.
  • Paid time off to recharge and rest.
  • Be part of a growing, forward-thinking company that’s raising the bar in home services.
