Attorney / Lawyer

Description We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Attorney to join a family law firm in Carmel, Indiana. This position involves handling complex family law cases, advocating for clients in litigation, and promoting amicable resolutions wherever possible. The ideal candidate is passionate about courtroom advocacy and committed to supporting families during challenging times.

Responsibilities :

• Represent clients in family law cases, including divorce, child custody, guardianship, adoption, and related matters.
• Advocate for clients in court, preparing legal arguments and presenting cases effectively.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and goals, while striving to minimize family disruption.
• Draft motions, briefs, and other legal documents with precision and attention to detail.
• Conduct discovery processes, including gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses.
• Manage a yearly billable requirement of 1,400 to 1,500 hours.
• Maintain professionalism and empathy when dealing with sensitive family law issues.
• Communicate effectively with opposing counsel, courts, and other stakeholders to achieve favorable outcomes.
• Stay updated on family law regulations and precedents to provide informed legal advice. Requirements - Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and active Indiana Bar license.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of litigation experience, preferably in family law.
• Proficiency in courtroom advocacy and a strong passion for litigation.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience drafting motions, briefs, and conducting discovery.
• Ability to handle sensitive matters with empathy and professionalism.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to meet billable hour requirements.
