Security Officer

Responsibilities :

• Patrols facilities and property to detect unauthorized persons, activities, unsafe conditions, and ensure safety standards are maintained.
• Maintains communication with supervisors, fellow officers, security operations center, and law enforcement to report crimes, incidents, and safety irregularities.
• Intervenes in disputes using verbal de-escalation techniques to diffuse potentially violent situations.
• Investigate and documents incidents, safety hazards, and criminal activities.
• Controls access to restricted properties and verifies admittance of authorized individuals.
• Escorts people and property to desired destinations when safety is a concern.
• Assists with parking and security during special events and provides visitors with directions and security information.
• Performs security services and dispatcher duties when assigned.
• Participates in activities not directly related to security operations as approved by security management.
• Detains unauthorized individuals in compliance with state and federal law.
