Unit Overview :
Join our 24-bed Neurosurgical Unit and care for a diverse patient population, including :
Post-operative patients from craniotomies, AVMs, and tumor resectionsCervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine surgeriesPatients suffering from hemorrhagic and ischemic strokes as part of our Comprehensive Stroke ProgramA high volume of cervical and spinal surgery patients, alongside medical overflow casesExperience the latest in neurosurgical techniques and cutting-edge care as part of the Aurora Neuroscience Innovation Institute (ANII) .

Utilize the nursing process for patient assessment, planning, and implementing individualized interventions.Recognize significant changes in patient conditions, adapting care plans as necessary.Develop learning strategies for patients and families to ensure their readiness to learn.Coordinate and implement discharge plans using an interdisciplinary approach.Evaluate patient and unit outcomes, actively participating in improvement initiatives.Demonstrate effective communication and leadership in care coordination.Promote patient safety through proactive strategies and immediate reporting of events.Engage in ethical decision-making and collaborative care approaches.Participate in professional development activities and maintain required competencies.Demonstrate knowledge of age-specific patient care needs.Licensure and Education :
Active Registered Nurse license in the practicing state.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.Completion of an accredited Nursing program.Experience Required : Minimum of 1 year in clinical nursing.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Ability to provide holistic patient care and respond to situations with confidence.Proficient in technology, including electronic medical records systems.Exceptional communication and organizational skills.Able to manage multiple tasks effectively in a dynamic environment.Strong collaboration and leadership abilities among healthcare teams.Physical Requirements :
